2021: This… Is Your Year!
(Sunday message for House Church and individual use: preached 1/10 – 1/16/2020)
“And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.”
(Genesis 15:5-7)
Introduction
You… are the father of a nation! You… are the mother of a nation! But… the best that you have been mislead to think that you can do is this:
“Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.” (Matthew 25:24-25)
And so you fearfully live in a world that is falling apart all around you,
- With a plague from China that can suck away all your breath;
- With a crashing economy that can leave you with no income and no food;
- With riots in the streets and the capitol edging closer to your own door.
And worst of all, looming above you the whole time, is the eternal implication of what you will hear when Our Lord finally appears.
“His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
“And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 25:26-30)
Oh, my prayer for you shall be…
- That you repent; now, while you still can.
- That the fear of God begins this wisdom in you, now!
- That you dig up your talent and have God’s Spirit multiply it, always!
- That you set your excuses on fire in a crackling blaze of renewed consecration that reaches beyond the skies, forever!
To keep it simple, to keep it portable so that you shall always remember and never forget, let us see it all through one man. One young man who became the father… of a nation!
I. Repent while you can!
“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17)
- Abraham repented – partially.
“Now the Lord had said unto Abram,
- Get thee out of thy country,
- and from thy kindred,
- and from thy father’s house,
- unto a land that I will shew thee:
“And I will
- make of thee a great nation,
- and I will bless thee,
- and make thy name great;
- and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
“So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.” (Genesis 12:1-4)
II. Surrender while you can!
“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:33)
- Abraham surrendered fully.
“And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him,
- Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
- for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
- And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.” (Genesis 13:14-16)
III. Believe while you can!
“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38)
- Abraham acted on his faith in God!
“After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
“And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
“And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
“And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
“And he believed in the Lord;
And he counted it to him for righteousness. And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.” (Genesis 15:1-7)
Conclusion
You… are the father of a nation! You… are the mother of a nation!
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” (John 14:12)
- You are meant to do a great work in the earth!
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
- You are meant to be a great stability in the earth!
“And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” (Luke 2:49)
- You are meant to do God’s, your Father’s business in the earth!
“And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?” (Nehemiah 6:3)
- You are meant to keep fighting for Christ until the very end!
