About us (Touring the Website)

That is our mission statement: our purpose, our plan, our pursuit. Simple and scriptural and said by someone who met our Lord, during his ministry here on Earth, before anyone else. For the rest of us, this was an introduction to his first miracle, but doubtless not for her. She, the virgin mother Mary, knew him, and she knew that to know him was to be changed by Him: Jesus Christ, Our Lord, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Savior of the World.

I. The “Home” Page

And so, we place this simple verse of Scripture at the top of our online building, our website at www.saltthecity.org. Why? So that if nothing else is gained by visiting our site, you will at least be given the opportunity to yield to what we know to be a life changing verse from the Word of God.

      A. The Playlist Buttons – are given to access entertaining video briefs of the messages we provide. These messages are divided based on the three different groups of people spoken to by our Lord during his ministry on Earth; and yes, even still today.

     B. The Our History Button – is introduced by a few words that include the following verse.

“For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21)

     C. The Contact Button ­– is prefaced with an incentive to “Join the S.A.L.T.”; and is prompted by the Savior’s statement of who we are, “The salt of the earth.” (Matthew 5:13)

     D. Featured Videos – are lastly given here, at the bottom of this Home Page. These are our current top picks for each of the groups we seek to minister to on behalf of him who administered life to us forevermore.

II. The “Who Are You?” Page

This is the title of a page that is designed, in a succinct and open manner, to accomplish one thing.

• To direct you further towards choosing the group you wish to be ministered (humbly served) through:
  • Multitudes – those seeking to know more about Christ.
  • Members – those seeking to actually follow after Christ.
  • Ministers – those seeking to begin a fresh work for Christ.

III. The “About” Page

“Who Is He That Gave You This Authority?” – These words, given at the top of this page, are taken directly from a demand made upon our Lord by the established church leaders of his day.

Here it is in its full context, as recorded in the Gospel of Luke, and also reprinted here.

“And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, and spake unto him, saying, ‘Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?” (Luke 20:1-2)

Finally, this page closes using the antitype of King Saul to explain our pursuit of anonymity, and its hoped-for use as a further expansion of whole hearted regard towards the crucified, buried and (hallelujah!) resurrected Savior of the World: our Savior, our Lord. To further this attempt, the words of this section close with this direct call from God.

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)

Through entertaining music and video appeal, encourages the visitor to continue learning more, and to eventually allow us to care for him person-to-person, as our Lord does for us.
