An Eternity of Forgiveness

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
(Luke 23:34)
Introduction: The Engagement of Forgiveness
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” (Luke 23:34)
- “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:7-9)
- “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34)
- “And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, ‘Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” (John 13:34)

I. The Essence of Forgiveness
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” (Luke 23:34)
- “For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.” (Deuteronomy 4:24)
- “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” (1 John 4:8)
II. The Existence of Forgiveness

- “And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.” (Colossians 1:14)
- Answer to prayer:
- “Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.” (Acts 5:31)
- “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:” (Acts 13:38)
- “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” (Ephesians 1:7)
- “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (Colossians 1:14)

- “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” (Acts 26:18)
- And thus shall commence the Empowered Extinguishing Eternity of Forgiveness… Forever
- “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.” (Isaiah 25:8)
