Dear Preacher, Don't Kick Him Out, Send Him!
(A Message to the Ministers of the Lord Jesus)
(Preached Saturday Afternoon, August 22, 2020)
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
(Matthew 5:11-12)
Introduction
Dear listeners, dear preacher, lets have some fun, right off the bat, right here at the beginning of this message. Let’s go to YouTube and hear this post: a video entitled, Does This Child Preacher Understand the Words He’s Yelling? | The Oprah Winfrey Show | OWN. Ready? Alright. Let’s click here.
Got it? Okay, now let’s scroll down right below the video and read the printed introduction. Here it is.
“In the late ’80s, the Strode family of Marion, North Carolina, became infamous for striking fear in the heart of their town. Their son Duffey, who started preaching at age 5, could be found screaming Bible verses at the top of his lungs on school grounds. His parents eventually decided to homeschool their children after Duffey was suspended from school multiple times and a petition suggesting the family should leave town received nearly 500 signatures, according to The Washington Post.”
My my! Well, now! What’s the world got to say about that. No need to wait for that answer. Let’s just read the first… ah, well… five posts that appear right below the video.
- Ant Francis (4 months ago) says, “Maaaan, lockdown has got me watching the maddest things on youtube.” [4.5K thumbs up, 0 down]
- Becca Daily (2 months ago) says, “The dad sounds like an abuser and a bully; how else would the child go from looking timid to screaming like that?….because he has been taught how to do exactly that!!!” [1.5K thumbs up, 0 down]
- Joey Schuchardt (2 months ago), says, “There’s a huge difference between spiritually training your children and brainwashing them. This is brainwashing.” [726 thumbs up, 0 down]
- Danielle (2 months ago: edited) says, “As a Christian, this breaks my heart. This was probably humiliating for him, poor boy. Seems like his father forced him to be there. He should allow the boy to learn about God and the Bible ofc but not force him to preach like that without knowing what he’s saying.” [1.2K thumbs up, 0 down]
- LAYDI-DAYVANA MOORE ( 2 months ago) says, “My math teacher: *pointing at my test* Explain your work. What does it mean?” [220 thumbs up, 0 down]
- Laydi-Dayvana then give the following hyperlink: [Me: 1:24]. This is what is said and done directly after “1:24” in this short 3:17 video clip:
- A woman from the audience stands up, speaks into the microphone held by Oprah Winfrey, and says, “Don’t yell it to us. Tell us what that means. I’ve never read the Bible, let’s pretend, and don’t understand, um, that type of language. Tell me how that applies to my own life.”
- Little boy, “Why I’m screaming is, um, the Bible definition of preaching is, Isaiah 58:1, It says, ‘CRY OUT LOUD. SPARE NOT. LIFT UP YOUR VOICE LIKE A TRUMPET.”
- A man from the audience interrupts the little boy by saying, “Stay away from the Bible, Duffy!”
- Another woman from the audience quickly interjects, “Tell us in your own words.”
- Ophrah Winfrey then quickly says, “How do you stay away from the Bible if you’re going to preach, though.” Oprah then bites her nail.
- Laydi-Dayvana then give the following hyperlink: [Me: 1:24]. This is what is said and done directly after “1:24” in this short 3:17 video clip:
Well, folks…. well ministers, what do you think? Lets give you a few seconds of silence to visualize, honestly, what you would have said if you had found yourself in tht studio audience that particular day. – – – – –
Well, there it is, right? That’s what you would have done. And what do you think about Jesus? What would he have… Well, actually, in a way, I suppose… in this scenario, Jesus would have been… the little boy!
Tell you what. Here! Listen to this response, this reply that we added today, on behalf of this ministry, the S.A.L.T. (the Savior’s Ambassadors Laboring Together). Here is the post that we put up earlier this afternoon.
“Wow! What’s all the fuss about, team? The little kid just quoted a Bible verse, by heart, out loud, and meaningfully. How else did you think Jesus got a crowd of 5,000, 7,000, and enough to fill up the side of a mountain to hear him. And when Jesus preached or when HE quoted the Bible, don’t you think he said it passionately AND pointedly. And yes, please do scroll down to Lolleby’s post, and take a look at how the crowd looked at “0:58”. Yes, there it is. A very clear picture of the crowd’s face when they tried to stone Jesus, and when the other crowd tried to push him off a cliff, and, well, when they crucified him. Oops! Sorry, I guess I was supposed to agree with all of you against this little boy and his daddy. Hmmm…. nah! Think I’ll stand with them, their Bible, and Jesus, the Savior, the Son of God. Oh, you did know right? The Bible verse that the little boy dared to quote before his accusers is a historical quote made by… Jesus. Nuff, said? Not hardly.”
Okay. So, yes, lets say just a few words more and then end this message.

“Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, and cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”
Jesus said,
“He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.” (Mathew 10:41)
Jesus warned,
“Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!” (Matthew 18:7)
