Dear World, Please Forgive Us!

Dear World, Please Forgive Us!

(A Message to the Multitude)

(Preached Sunday Morning, August 2, 2020)

“For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.”

(Romans 2:24, KJV)

“For ‘the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.”

(Romans 2:24, NASB)

“As it is written: ‘God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

(Romans 2:24, NIV)

Introduction

“You, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? As it is written: ‘God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.’ Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised.” (Romans 2:21-25, NIV)

We want to properly apologize but we, by ourselves, don’t exactly know how; not on our own. Fortunately, we have a guide. God tells us exactly how to go about this, in what we call his “Word”; what is commonly known as the Bible.

I. Please forgive us for not listening to you!

“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” (Matthew 5:23-24)

     A. We didn’t listen to you when we went to church.

“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;”

     B. We didn’t listen to you when God closed our church.

“Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way;”

     C. Please. Please allow us to listen to you now.

“First be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”

II. Please forgive us for not agreeing with you!

“Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.” (Matthew 5:25)

     A. What you said about us before is right.

“Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him;”

     B. What you are saying about us now is right.

Lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer,”

     C. What will be said about us on the day of judgement is right.

“And thou be cast into prison.”

III. Please forgive us for not changing our wicked ways!

“Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.” (Matthew 5:26)

     A. Please ask God to help us change our wicked ways.

“Verily I say unto thee,”

     B. Please let God use you to help us change our wicked ways.

Thou shalt by no means come out thence,”

     C. Please look upon the only true salvation from all wicked ways.

till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.”

Thank you for sharing these truths. For many have been led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3). even though I was saved, I was mixed up with Babylon Christendom, traditional church and part-time worldliness, but the Lord delivered me and opened my eyes Sept 2019. Since then, I have seen Christ in all things and pressing on to perfection. I am now aware of the cross and the plan of God is for us to be Christlike and free from sin. God has also added me unto true disciples of Jesus who see his worthiness alone. I pray this teaching will help others , and that the eyes of their understanding maybe enlightened to see CHRIST in everything.
