I Saved You. You Despised Me.

I Saved You. You Despised Me.

(Training message for House Church and individual use: preached 7/25 – 7/31/2021)

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”

(Isaiah 53:3)

Introduction: What a wonderful Savior is Jesus our Lord!

  • “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32)
  • “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, ‘If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” (John 7:37)
  • “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-12)

I. The world has despised our Savior.

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)

  • “So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.” (Romans 1:15)

II. We have despised our Savior.

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)

  • For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)

Conclusion: Will you continue to despise your Savior?

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)

  • For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)
