Prayer Vigil #1: Begun on the Day They Stormed the U.S. Capitol

(Mid-week message for House Church and individual use: preached 1/3 – 1/9/2020)

“Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”

(Acts 12:5)

Introduction

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

I. How did it start?

“As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.” (Hosea 4:7)

II. How did it all go wrong?

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalm 9:17)

III. How do we fix it?

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ezekiel 22:30)

IV. How does He fix it?

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” (Luke 11:9)

Conclusion

“Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” (Acts 12:5)
