SUPER… YOU!

SUPER... YOU!

(Training message for House Church and individual use: preached 3/14 – 3/20/2021)

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

(Matthew 5:13)

Introduction

Do we need any salt?

  • Do we need anything or anyone to save us?
  • To make this world taste better?
  • To make life have true, eternally true meaning?

Yes, of course we do! We need a savior! This whole world needs saving!

But who will come and save it! Jesus is in Heaven! As it is written,

“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.” (Acts 1:9)

Yes, Jesus is THE Savior! Yes, he has saved US from sin. As the angel said,

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)

But if you have been saved then the question is…

  • Who does he want to save the rest of the world through? (I think you know the answer. You should!)

“Ye are the salt of the earth!”

What is the definition of a Christian?

I. Worthless saviors!

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” (Matthew 5:13)

II. Tasteless saviors!

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. (Matthew 5:13)

III. Saviors!

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. (Matthew 5:13)

Conclusion: The saviors are here! Young man, young woman, teenager and you in your twenties and early thirties… you… are… our saviors: the saviors… of this world!

  • God used Noah to save the world!
  • God used Moses to save the nation!
  • God used Christians (not just Peter and not just Paul) to turn the world upside down!

Come turn it upside down again! Isn’t everything all flipped the wrong way, now? Come flip it back to where it belongs… to where God wants it to be… to where Jesus left for you to bring it to being… before… he…. comes back!!
