“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

(Matthew 6:13b)

Introduction

“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” (Matthew 4:8-9)

“But God said unto him, “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12:20-21)

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)

I. It’s his kingdom!

“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:13b)

THAT: “And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Matthew 4:9-10)
THIS: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)

II. It’s his power!

“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:13b)

THAT: “For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:17)
THIS: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18)
THIS: “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (Revelation 1:18)

III. It’s his glory!

“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:13b)

THAT: “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ” (1 John 2:16)
THIS: “And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.” (Matthew 17:2)

IV. It is forever!

“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:13b)

THAT: “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10)
THAT: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)
THIS: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)
THIS: “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5)

Conclusion: Amen.
