This Promise Is Yours!

This Promise Is Yours!

(A Message to the Multitude)

(Preached Sunday Afternoon, September 13, 2020)

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

(Acts 2:36-39)

Introduction

A reading from pages 196 to 20 of Dr. R. A. Torrey’s classic book:

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” (1 John 5:14-15)

I. You can know this for sure!

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (Acts 2:36)

     A. Oh, how you brutalized him (and wish you could do it again)!

     B. Oh, how you killed him!

     C. Oh… He is coming again!

III. You crucified your Lord! You crucified your Savior!

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (Acts 2:36)

     A. You crucified your Lord!

     B. You crucified your Savior!
