Introduction

What if you are right and we are wrong?

What if we are right and you are wrong?

I. What if sin really exists and you don’t repent?

“Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:2)

  • “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17)

II. What if Heaven really exists and you can’t get in?

“Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:2)

“Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” – John the Baptist (Matthew 3:2)

  • “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” – Jesus Christ (Matthew 4:17)

Conclusion

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

“For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.” (Hebrews 12:17)

The Most Beautiful “Amazing Grace” I’ve Ever Heard

Amazing Grace was written by a former slave trader named John Newton.

Once sailing as the captain of a ship full of slaves from Africa, his boat was fiercely overtaken with a ravaging storm… Newton, fearing that his life was over, got down on his knees and begged for God to spare his life. He promised the Lord that, if he spared his life, he would repent and stop trading slaves.

The storm calmed down and Newton, using a tune he had heard the slaves sing over and over again, wrote the, now, most famous Christian hymn of all, “Amazing Grace.” A hymn, a song that continues to be sung around the world, full of sorrow and love and hope that those who hear or sing it would enjoy the great blessing of forgiveness of sin in Jesus.

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now I’m found.

Was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to feel

And grace my fears relieved.

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers toils and snares

We have already come

‘Twas grace that brought us safe that far

And grace will lead us home

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

Then when we’d first begun.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now I’m found.

Was blind, but now I see
