Who Will Win This Election – Revealed!

Who Will Win This Election - Revealed!

(Sunday message for your House Church and individual use: originated Sun., 10/18/2020)

The following is taken from the US Election 2020 page of BBC.com, which is the online arm of the British Broadcasting Channel. This is the beginning of their lead article, which is continually updated in real time and entitled, “US Election 2020 Polls: Who Is Ahead – Trump or Biden?”

“Voters in America will decide on 3 November whether Donald Trump remains in the White House for another four years.

“The Republican president is being challenged by Democratic Party nominee Joe Biden, who is best known as Barack Obama’s vice-president but has been in US politics since the 1970s.

“As election day approaches, polling companies will be trying to gauge the mood of the nation by asking voters which candidate they prefer.

“We’ll be keeping track of those polls here and trying to work out what they can and can’t tell us about who will win the election.

“Biden leading national presidential polls

National polls are a good guide as to how popular a candidate is across the country as a whole, but they’re not necessarily a good way to predict the result of the election.

“In 2016, for example, Hillary Clinton led in the polls and won nearly three million more votes than Donald Trump, but she still lost – that’s because the US uses an electoral college system, so winning the most votes doesn’t always win you the election.

“With that caveat aside, Joe Biden has been ahead of Donald Trump in most national polls since the start of the year. He has hovered around 50% in recent months and has had a 10-point lead on occasions.

“Who’s ahead in national polls?

“DEMOCRAT: BIDEN: 52%

“REPUBLICAN: TRUMP: 42%”

I. Who will win the election?

It’s definitely something to pray about.

“Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:5-7)

“Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” (Psalm 75:5-7)

     A. Will it be Trump?

We don’t know but we do remember that the Bible says,

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

     B. Will it be Biden?

Well, we don’t know but we do know that the Bible also says,

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalm 9:17)

     C. Will it be you?

The Bible says,

“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” (Romans 11:5)

  1. Only one candidate can be elected to hold each public office.
  2. Gaining a place in the Kingdom of Heaven is kind of like that:
    1. Only one way in; and
    2. Only one spot open for you; and
    3. You might not be allowed to hold that position.
    4. That’s what the verse that we just quoted calls those very few candidates who make it in “a remnant according to the election of grace.”

II. Our candidate!

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” (Psalm 24:9)

     A. Our candidate is well endorsed!

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;” (Revelation 5:11)

     B. Our candidate is well qualified!

Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” (Revelation 5:12)

     C. Our candidate is well supported!

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” (Revelation 5:13)

     D. Our candidate is well connected!

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:9-10)

III. This is a campaign headquarters (let us help you)!

Friend, we are the Savior’s Ambassadors Laboring Together. Let us help you.

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)

     A. We are the Savior’s!

“For Christ!”

     B. We are the Savior’s Ambassadors!

“We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us!”

     C. We are the Savior’s Ambassadors Laboring!

“We pray [beg] you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

     D. We are the Savior’s Ambassadors Laboring Together!

“We … us … we!”

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Conclusion

No. All eyes are on you. Other than God, only you can provide this answer.

“And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?” (Luke 18:7)

Oh, to be God’s “own elect!” How shall you? How can you? This election? This election?? In eternity (and right now is part of your eternity), in eternity… You won’t be thinking about Biden, and Trump, and Democrats, and Republicans, and who won, and who lost – because you will be lost! Lost throughout eternity; throughout forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever! Loooooooosssssttt…

Biden? Trump? Bush? Obama? What about Jesus?

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)

Trump in the White House? Biden on the doorstep? What about Jesus on the Cross?

“Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.” (Lamentations 1:12)
